Steiner’s Prophesy (the prophesy is in black boldface italics)
I
want to consider with you an aspect of the present attack on us. It’s a
ticklish one from an evidential point of view, but nevertheless is, I
believe, quite crucial. The nature of it, I think, is an effort to
change our very humanity.
The
arrogance of the technocracy today includes a contempt for anything
that is natural combined with rapacious use of our planet – an
extraordinary example of that was Elon Musk’s statement that we don’t
need bees because we could make much more efficient ones. The real
threat to us, though, is not so much in such statements from a mercurial
entrepreneur, but in an effort to “improve” the efficiency, not of the
bee, but of the human by the promotion of the hive mentality. Part of
the drive has been labelled (not helpfully in my view,) identity
politics, – the projection of an illusion that the collective, – a
concept, – has a personality which trumps the personal sovereignty of
the individual.
Those
who fall for this chimera of the collective invest in predigested
simplistic slogans and, often, 180 degree fundamentally wrong ideas in
preference to wrestling themselves with fact finding and intellectual
exertion. A person encouraged to feel themselves part of the collective
has only to parrot the collective line to get the warm fuzzy feeling of
being part of a virtuous grouping, while in reality, whatever their
belief, they may in fact be party to real evil.
Many
reading this will no doubt have understood this themselves better than I
and realised that over several decades this canard has undermined the
personal development of many, and polluted our educational
establishments and our culture. It makes people who have been deceived
by the collective mirage easy targets for the manipulation in the
present assault by the motions of convergent malign opportunism.
It
is free thinking, free will and the individual personal responsibility
accompanying them that define us as humans, and the removal of those
reduces us in effect to machines – slave automata.
This was written by Rudolf Steiner over a century ago:
“In
the future, we will eliminate the soul with medicine. Under the pretext
of a ‘healthy point of view’, there will be a vaccine by which the
human body will be treated as soon as possible directly at birth, so
that the human being cannot develop the thought of the existence of soul
and Spirit.
To materialistic doctors, will be entrusted
the task of removing the soul of humanity. As today, people are
vaccinated against this disease or that disease, so in the future,
children will be vaccinated with a substance that can be produced
precisely in such a way that people, thanks to this vaccination, will be
immune to being subjected to the “madness” of spiritual life. He would
be extremely smart, but he would not develop a conscience, and that is
the true goal of some materialistic circles.
With such a
vaccine, you can easily make the etheric body loose in the physical
body. Once the etheric body is detached, the relationship between the
universe and the etheric body would become extremely unstable, and man
would become an automaton, for the physical body of man must be polished
on this Earth by spiritual will. So, the vaccine becomes a kind of
arymanique force; man can no longer get rid of a given materialistic
feeling. He becomes materialistic of constitution and can no longer rise
to the spiritual”.
Steiner was right in a number of other predictions that he made, – as if the foregoing was not pause for thought enough.
So
what I’m driving at in this somewhat random way is that the enemy we
face is, in my view, a threat to the whole idea of man as a spiritual
being. That is something for which we may say hard evidence is difficult
to point to, though as I will do something to start to show as this
blog progresses, it is not by any means absent. But that is in the
nature of spiritual matters, and we need to simply ask people to use
their own given intuition to consider whether this insight – that I for
one feel very strongly – is the case.
