Right off the bat, Fernandes is hopeless:

Archbishop Christophe Pierre, the apostolic nuncio to the United States, read the special letter from Pope Francis, informing everyone that the new bishop is eminently qualified and thus chosen by him, the Holy Father, to lead the Diocese of Columbus.

Well, that's a black curse from Hell on a new bishop to have that devil Bergoglio praise you, especially while the Ogre-in-Chief simultaneously crashes and burns a French bishop and an entire diocese. See a mainstream Catholic news report on that here. This is how Bergoglio treats a bishop for carefully promoting the orthodox Catholic Faith.

Throughout these ceremonies, Bishop Fernandes beamed his trademark smile, but he took a serious tone as he addressed the congregation, stressing the urgency to bring more men into the priesthood.

“I promise to work hard for you, to spill my blood for you,” he pledged. “But I bring to your attention that this year, in the Diocese of Columbus, there will be more bishops than priests ordained.

“We need a new Pentecost to set the world on fire,” he said. “We need missionaries and priests willing to make a gift to themselves in the service of the Gospel. I ask every man, woman, and child to pray for vocations to the priesthood, especially for our diocese.”

Family, friends, priests, religious men and women, and prelates from around the U.S. filled the church to celebrate the new bishop.

Three former bishops of the diocese attended: Bishop Brennan, and Bishops Emeritus James Griffin and Frederick Campbell.

Talk about "See no evil, hear no evil, do no evil" monkeys! Wait, I insult our simian brethren.

Anyway, look at what Fernandes says:

“I promise to work hard for you, to spill my blood for you,” he pledged.

That's why you wear purple, brother, to remind you you might well be martyred. If you stand up against Bergoglio, however, you will be.

Fernandes says on:

C'mon Bishop Fernandes! A "New Pentecost"? Forsooth! John Paul II kept that mantra going till he died holding on to it, gasping out his last bit of spiritus, "A New Pentecost! It's coming! Wait for it!" Yeah, then he croaked. (Unfortunately, before his death he plucked the utterly obscure Bergoglio out of oblivion and made him a bishop. The rest, as they say, is history.

Dear Bishop Fernandes,

Your master Bergoglio before our eyes daily tries his best to destroy the Holy Mass that God has used to raise not only endless priests but hosts of saints! For nearly two millennium! (And in his spare time, the Argentine lays waste to Catholic theology.) Yet Bergoglio stomps on vocations, shuts down ordinations! Scatters individual individual priests and even religious orders who try to embrace the Traditional Latin Mass! Without mercy! He scatters them like Tiglath-Pileser III and Shalmaneser V of Nineveh conquered Israel, like the mighty Sargon II and his son Sennacherib finished the job, scattering the surviving Israelites into the trackless East. Bergoglio does that, and metaphorically builds pyramids of skulls out of the Faithful, and yet this young, grinning Bishop Fernandes says,

“We need a new Pentecost to set the world on fire,” he said. “We need missionaries and priests willing to make a gift to themselves in the service of the Gospel. I ask every man, woman, and child to pray for vocations to the priesthood, especially for our diocese.”

Dar Crom! Be no fool as that fool in the Forest of Arden! Or a more topically American reference, isn't the Vatican II Church's endless quest for more priests while they chase off manly men and ban the TLM in essence a "snipe hunt"?

Of course it is.

It's a wild goose chase, and they know it. It's all pretend, just as they pretend they're Catholics when everything they do replaces Catholicism with a form of Anglicanism or Lutheranism. It parallels the current U.S. government that pretends to be representative of the people, when it is anything but. The American "Deep State" works feverishly to weaken and replace the actual American people with foreigners, either via immigration or the educational system. That's exactly what the Vatican II Church endeavors to do, as well.

Bottom Line

The Most Holy Spirit has shown His preference; the Holy Ghost grants bountiful vocations wherever the TLM flourishes, and as for the Novus Ordo, well, I guess Fernandes can ordain some butch nuns if he wants, but not too many others want the job – as the past 60 years overwhelming demonstrate.

Columbus, Ohio mayor signs mask mandate for city

Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther on Tuesday afternoon signed a beefed-up city mask mandate approved by the City Council Monday evening, meaning potential city fines for failing to mask up in most indoor public places are now immediately in effect.

The mask mandate applies to anyone over the age of 2 and whether you have been vaccinated or not.

After an initial warning, the city Health Department can fine businesses $500 for a second offense and $1,000 for subsequent offenses for any customers or staff failing to wear masks.

Individuals also can be fined $100 after a warning.  That's up from $25 originally in response to concerns from businesses about getting fined for noncomplying customers. The fines for individuals grows to $250 for any subsequent offenses.

The fines add teeth to an emergency executive order issued by Ginther last week.

The fines are "civil" penalties, and police officers won't be involved in enforcing the mandate. However, law enforcement will be authorized to enforce trespassing laws if someone who refuses to comply with the mask mandate is asked by representatives of the restaurants, bars, grocery stores or other publicly accessible buildings to leave the premises and does not.  

Don't tolerate this absolute imbecilic garbage! The wearing of standard cloth masks/hospital masks do nothing to prevent the spread of an airborne (aerosol) virus. If you are coughing on a regular basis and have a running nose/blowing nose, you might want to consider mask wearing just to avoid dirty looks. But of course you should not sneeze into a mask! And a coughing/running nose just forces the mucus out, regardless. And making children wear masks is simply evil. Not only is it actually physically dangerous for kids not to breathe freely, seeing everyone with their faces covered is going to "mess them up" for life! Remember Biderman's Chart of Coercion wherein Enforcing Trivial Demands was a central tool tyrants use?

A statue of Christopher Columbus will be removed by the largest city that bears the explorer’s name, the Ohio city’s mayor announced Thursday.

The statue located in front of City Hall in Columbus, Ohio, will be removed immediately and placed in storage as monuments to Confederates and other historical figures who repressed or oppressed other people are being dismantled across the country.

“For many people in our community, the statue represents patriarchy, oppression and divisiveness.” Democratic Mayor Andrew Ginther said in a release. “That does not represent our great city, and we will no longer live in the shadow of our ugly past.”

"The statue represents patriarchy, oppression, and divisiveness...", don't these idiots know they're the first to be shot when the Revolution comes (a Left rev or a Right?) Lenin's "useful idiots" are always the first to provide fertilizer for the weeds. Morons. Dolts. Imbeciles. (Somehow those types are to smart for describing Mayor Ginther. Compost? There ya go.)

So, how long before they rename the city? And to what? The name of some rapper? Itsoktocry, or Lilbootycall, or Bootychaaain, or Lil Toenail, or my favorite actual rapper name: Leeky Bandz? Or here are a couple of actual girl names for inner city babies: La'Quishraniqua and Mo'Nique (clever way to spell "Monique"): so La'Quishraniqua Mo'Nique City? Maybe they can find a Black Lesbian Tranny with that name -- kill three "birds" with one stone, as it were? When I worked as a textbook editor, I used to make up outlandish inner-city names for use in the books, and no one ever caught that they were made up.

To all my friends who live in Columbus, I'm sorry to see it. And I'm glad I'm not there. Were I there, I'd dress up in Renaissance elegance and march up and down in front of city hall with a sign, "We Europeans discovered the world; you-all had more class as cannibals" or something similar. Maybe: "We Europeans should have left you in the jungle eating each other." Something. Such stupidity as displayed by the Columbus city council and mayor just begs for the nastiest, snarkiest reaction. Of course, I'd need quite a few body guards.

What this is really about is to remove all White accomplishments, all White heroes, and the foundation of the distinctiveness of Western Civ. Iconoclasm is always about erasure, oblivion, and what the Romans called Damnatio memoriae. Columbus is esp a target because he was an not merely an explorer and "adventure capitalist" but a crusader as well, wanting to bring the Catholic Faith to the Indies even before the Jesuits were founded. And of course the Church today would rather die itself than defend the man.

Historically, a little less than 34 years after Columbus discovered America, the Battle of Mohács was engaged on August 29, 1526, and Hungary lost that battle to the Turks.

Somehow I don't think it will take 34 years to loose Columbus, Ohio, to the mob.

I've never ate there and I now never will. There's stupid, profound stupidity, and something beyond that for which there are no words. The Chick-fil-A guy is the definition of that.

Why a Diocese Should Not Have More Than 100,000 Catholics...

The Situation

The Church is in a mess, we all know that, and many reasons exist on the spiritual side of things (lack of Faith being primary) for why this is so. But more prosaic reason might also exist.

We have about 1.3 billion Catholics in the world, and 5,100 bishops. The bishops are obviously overwhelmed. They are supposed to govern their dioceses. How can they remotely do so with statistics like these? Surely, we can have little doubt that a titanic portion of the Church's troubles originate in this prosaic fact: Too many Catholics for too few bishops.

No Catholic bishop can be effective in being a bishop if he has a diocese of much over 100,000 people. And no pope can manage the world's five thousand bishops. No pope, no Vatican, can do so very closely, to any seriously good effect, to say the least. Remember, the Vatican appoints bishops; how good a job have they done the last 50+ years?

The Church itself has lasted -- on a secular, organizational level -- as a top-down ruling system, since its beginning. Obviously, it has a transcendent religious, supernatural dimension, but just purely in secular terms, the local bishop has been the cart-blanc ruler, with only a limited hierarchy above him, culminating in the pope in Rome. (I know Orthodox and Protestants reject this history, but as I reject their pseudo-history, we're even.)

From the early days of the Church, the bishop was the main guy -- priest, ruler, organizer and witness, guardian of the Faith. More formally, one could write that a bishop holds the fullness of the sacrament of holy orders and is responsible for teaching doctrine. The First Vatican Council in 1870 affirmed that each bishop is a direct heir of the Apostles (even as Pio Nono, Pius IX, sought to turn them into secretaries to the Vatican, which has proved to be a disaster).

And of course, each bishop created a hierarchy within each diocese, mirroring that of the Jerusalem Temple before it was destroyed. But above each bishop, due to the exigencies of human life, human rule, the nature of human organizations, there was a hierarchy culminating in one man. That was the pope, the bishop of Rome. (Again, regarding papal supremacy, the deniers of that, the Orthos and Prots, can go fish.)

When the early second century Corinthians had trouble with their bishop, they wrote to Rome and Pope Clement to resolve it. They didn't write to a neighboring Greek bishop or to Antioch, at that time "Queen of the East" and home of a flourishing Christian church wherein Christians were first called by that name, "Christians".

But within his diocese, it was the bishop who was priest in all Seven Sacraments, including ordination. As congregations grew, bishops appointed solid, elderly men to be "presbyters" (the word means "elder") to do baptisms, say Mass, hear confessions, preach, etc. But the bishops always kept the power to ordain.

Everyone in the town knew their bishop and he knew everyone. (Christianity was 'townie'; everyone outside was 'pagani', originally meaning rural folk.) He was their priest. Only after the Emperor Constantine made Christianity a state religion did they begin the create parishes with priests assigned to them. (That parish model of the Church is today under great stress for various reasons, and will probably be replaced.)

This history of small bishoprics one can see in Italy, where smallish towns have bishops, whereas in the U.S., only large cities are likely to have them. 

Today, a bishop is lucky if his diocese only has 50-60,000 or so Catholics. However, one bishop responsible for two or three hundred thousand Catholics in a diocese is NOT going to be effective. (Consider: the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has 4.4 million Catholics and five auxiliary bishops.) He'd be (and most of them actually are) a remote figurehead, useless to his flock and to himself as an actual leader of anything. In the U.S., each bishop is basically a CEO, and money management to keep the diocese afloat is his primary concern. 

And all that is one reason we had Mother Angelica become so powerful and influential: first, she was orthodox, not a heretic, and second, she did for Catholics through the medium of television what bishops should have been doing face-to-face. It is also why Catholic Answers and Catholic Apologetics in general have been mostly a freelance laity affair. "When the great have fallen," said Aragon, after Gandalf fell in Moria, "the less must lead." Since the hierarchy is not doing its job, the laity has to.

So, a Church with huge dioceses. Put it in perspective: Imagine a full (four-star) general -- with no colonels, let alone brigadiers or major generals, just captains and majors -- commanding an army of one hundred thousand men! How's that going to work? A typical US Army division today is about 17,000 to 21,000 and up to 40,000 with attached units, and they're under the command of a Major General. (Two stars)

Compare that to the Columbus, Ohio, diocese, from where I (more or less) came from before moving to Europe. It has one bishop, two retired bishops, 147 diocesan priests, total. Less than 100 are active and some 50 are assigned from religious orders or from outside in some way. It has 105 parishes. It covers 23 Ohio counties.

AND IT HAS A POPULATION OF 252,000 CATHOLICS!
(That's out of a total regional population of 2,456,000!)

How can one bishop even remotely hope to "govern" that, in the sense of being available to rank-and-file Catholics, confirming them, visiting with them, actually getting to know ANY (but wealthiest) of them? In other words, be a bishop? How can he remotely take into consideration the non-Catholics of his diocese, for that matter? (A bishop is supposed to be bishop of them all, one way or another. And a bishop has to be the primary apologist for the Faith to the non-Catholics, and is any bishop in the U.S. that?)
